  • Helpful Installation Tricks

    • Clean the door before installing the new gasket.
    • Soak the new gasket in hot water if you need to remove any twists or kinks before installation.
    • You can also use a hair dryer to heat the gasket (do not heat too much or the material will melt).
    • Your new gasket may take several days to form a maximum seal.
  • How To Clean & Maintain Your Gaskets

    • To clean your gaskets after installation, use only mild, non-alcohol, non-degreaser-based products or simply water. This ensures the gaskets remain in good condition and function properly. Avoid harsh chemicals that could damage the material.
    • Gentle pressure with mild soap and warm water is the only way to clean them.  DO NOT use detergents or bleach.  This dries out the rubber and causes premature cracking.
    • Avoid using degreasers or alcohol-based products to clean your gaskets. Instead, you can use mild products like Ivory soap. Additionally, there are wipes specifically designed for cleaning gaskets that you can purchase.
  • What is Offset?

Offset on refrigerator doors is the difference, in inches, between the outside surface of the frame or cabinet to which the door seals and the face of the door.
